The Betsuin Disaster Relief Fund was established by the Board of Directors in 2017 with a committee comprised of Sangha member that is guided by processes and procedures. The Committee appeals to Sangha members, families and friends to donate to specific disaster or to the programs in general. Osaisen (service offerings) collected at services are earmarked for this funds as well.
Since 2017, the Disaster Relief Fund has donated to the following:
||Santa Rosa City School District faculty & staff who lost their homes in the Sonoma County Tubbs Fire.
||Kids Meals Houston where Hurricane Harvey devastated the area.
||Boy and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico who incurred devastation from Hurricane Maria.

||Two Hongwanji Temples in Chiba Prefecture, Japan for the devastation incurred from Typhoon Faxai.
||Higashi Hongwanji Temple of Los Angeles for the property vandalism repairs.
